Governors
Nationally school governors are the largest volunteer force in the country. Governors at Shottermill Junior School are people from all walks of life who bring enthusiasm, commitment and an interest in education to this important role. We believe that the school should provide a safe and supportive environment where each child is able to flourish - it is the Governors' responsibility to ensure that the school achieves this aim.
Governors meet throughout the year as a Full Governing Body with two meetings each term - designed to focus on either Resources or Children and Learning. Most Governors also have an area of special responsibility, such as: Safeguarding, SEND, Pupil Premium or Wellbeing. Each Governor is also assigned one of our School Development Key Priorities to oversee throughout the year. More information about the persons elected to our Governing Body is available on the Committee Membership and Attendance page.
If you are interested in becoming a Governor at our school, or you would like to make contact with one of our Governors, please do so by contacting the School Office who will be able to put you in touch with the Chair of Governors - Mrs Beth Niven.
