Extended Curricular Activities (ECAs)
One of the highlights of the week for all children is our ECAs on a Friday afternoon. This provides an opportunity for children to interact with others across the year groups and make new friends, as well as trying an activity that they would not usually get to experience. We believe that the activities help to develop skills of independence, resilience, creativity, curiosity, team work and much more.
Activities often include:
- Survival in the Wild
- Cookery
- Origami
- Drama
- Cross Country
- Computer Skills
- Pebble Painting and Eco Crafts
These activities are dependent on the adults leading the sessions and we operate a form system for children to make their choice. The children, in discussion with a parent, should indicate their first, second and third preference of activity and we endeavour to provide them with something that they have indicated they would like to do. We also keep records to ensure that children get a turn to do some of our most popular activities, where numbers are limited.
We also welcome parent volunteers to help minimise the group sizes and offer a wider range of activities. Please contact the School Office if you feel you can help.
